Driving your car will be very comfortable without any weird sounds which may come from front brakes, improper windshield installation, or perhaps the doors are not closed well. Those conditions will ruin your concentration while you are driving especially if you know that the squeal comes from the front brakes. You need to take your car to a mechanic as soon as possible to avoid further damage. However, basically everyone can fix it themselves although they are not mechanically trained.
You need to check what tools you need such as socket set, lug wrench, jack, at least two jack stands, a large screwdriver or pry bar. If your car has late model, you need also metric bolts. You are also recommended to read the manual carefully, so that you will know how to use these tools properly. Comprehend the front disc brakes diagram. If you do not have the manual, you may come to auto parts stores or search online. There, you can purchase or download the manual. If you have all of this, you are ready to start.
Your brake fixing is started by opening the hood and finding the master cylinder. They are on the driver's side on the fire wall. Your next job is loosening the cap to reduce the pressure, so while you are compressing the caliper piston it will not damage the master cylinder. Then, remove the hub caps and loosen the lug nuts. After that, jack the car up and set jack stands under the frame. You can then finish removing the lug nuts and the wheel.
All of them are the first part and you have to follow with the second session. Your next job is removing the caliper by taking a long screwdriver and placing it behind the rotor and pulling it forward. That will make the caliper piston back in the caliper. Often, you need to wait until you get the caliper off and use a C clamp to push the piston back. Taking caliper bolts out will allow you to remove the caliper, brake pads and rotor. Do these on the other side.
You have to clean the parts with brake cleaner and lube all moving parts with brake lube. You have to make sure that the caliper is all way down and replace the bolts. Then, open the bleeder valve and close the valve. You need to do this several times until clear fluid comes out and the pedal is solid when you push it. Don't forget to refill master cylinder and replace cap, the wheel and lug nuts. Take the jack stands out, let the car down and tighten all lug nuts. Be sure the pedal is pumped up. This should finish your front disc pad replacements.
